We believe that your coffee should taste amazing--whether it's caffeinated or not. This coffee is fully washed and grown in the Huehuetenango region in Guatemala. A collaboration of several farms, it was first selected for it's taste before it was sent to the Swiss Water processing plant for decaffeination. Notes of coffee cake and jam get rounded out with a rich juicy finish.
Robin Gutierrez was one of the first producers Onyx partnered with when they began their direct-trade import business. For years, Robin and his father Jesús have been buying small plots of land and consolidating them to expand their production. One of the unique things about his micro lot farms is that there are fruit trees scattered throughout the rows of coffee plants, including apple trees, stone fruits, banana trees, and sugar cane. Grandpa Jesús watches over the drying patios himself during harvest season, carefully paddle turning the coffee by hand to make sure the beans in parchment dry evenly. The result is a deliciously clean, chocolaty, and almond sweet coffee.
