It is our second year of partnering with Kalsada Coffee—a social enterprise that champions Filipino specialty coffee producers. While we are still offering the stellar Sitio Belis https://www.andytownsf.com/purchase/philippines-sitio-belis-kalsada, we are roasting a second offering to showcase their hard work and improvements on the farm-level. 

Sitio Naguey sits on the sunny side of the mountain slope of Sitio Belis. Here, twelve smallholder family households produced this crop of natural coffee. In natural processing, the cherries are picked and sorted before being placed on raised drying beds. The coffees are agitated every hour, kept in sacks in the evening, and laid on the beds again in the morning. This meticulous process is repeated for 3-4 weeks until the coffee reaches a 10% moisture content. The coffee is then bagged to rest for 16 weeks before being hulled and sorted. 

In contrast to the washed-processed Sitio Belis, the Natural Sitio Naguey is dominated by notes of tamarind, golden honeydew, and genmaicha, making it a refreshing and approachable natural coffee.
