Co-Op: Iyula Agricultural Marketing Cooperative and Society (ACMOS)
Varietal: N93, KT 423
The Iyula villages of Tanzania have been cultivating coffee since 1938. Coffee was brought to this region by missionaries who gathered seeds from the Rungwe district. Since its introduction to the Iyula villages, coffee farming has been handed down from generation to generation. The current secretary of the Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society (ACMOS), Mchina Mwamlima, is the great grandson of one of the original farmers.
The ACMOS Co-Op is composed of many smallholder producers, each one producing approximately 1.3 bags of coffee annually. Two-hundred and seventy-seven smallholder producers contributed to this lot, and their hard work shows in the cup. Notes of pomelo, white tea, and golden raisins dominate this coffee. This coffee shines as an espresso and is absolutely refreshing in a sparkling americano.
Our goal is to send you the freshest coffee possible. Sometimes, this means that we will sometimes take a day or two to process orders. Orders placed on Saturdays and Sundays will be roasted and shipped Monday. Weekday orders usually ship same or next-day. Bags are 8 oz.
